
About Kullvi Whims
Kullvi Whims, a social enterprise rooted in the heart of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, merges tradition with contemporary charm. Our mission is to sustain and elevate the ancient crafts of the Himalayas through eco-friendly practices and empowering the women artisans and pastoral communities we collaborate with.

Wool
from the orchards, fields, and jungles surrounding their villages. Dyeing takes place seasonally with local flora which grows in the higher reaches of the mountains. The naturally dyed yarns are then ready to be knit or woven.





From Fleece to Fabric: Our Process

Sourcing Wool
Collaborating with the Gaddi community to source eco-friendly wool from free-grazing sheep.

Twice-yearly shearing and meticulous sorting by quality

Mill Processing
Opening, dusting, and scouring wool at local mills

Carding & Combing
Preparing wool into fine slivers for spinning.

Hand Spinning
Artisans spin wool into yarn using traditional tools like Taklis and Charkhas

Natural Dyeing
Dyeing yarns with naturally sourced pigments such as marigolds, walnut husks, and madder.

Hand-knitting, weaving, and crocheting into exquisite garments and home textiles
