Our Impact

At Kullvi Whims, we’re proud to say that we’re making a real difference in the lives of our artisans. Our core mission remains rooted in building a pastoral fleece-to-fabric supply chain that directly involves the Gaddi tribe and the incredibly talented women artisans of Himachal Pradesh. This year, we’ve seen that mission come to life in powerful ways.

We’re most excited about our growing work in the Kangra Valley. Thanks to the generous support of the Eicher Foundation and the leadership of Aditi Chanchani, we’ve begun working with artisans in this region. Our vision is to grow this to 200 artisans in the next two years—a big step toward sustainable livelihoods and the preservation of local ecological and cultural heritage.

With support from the British Council and the Centre for Pastoralism, we’re developing a traceable craft system, enabling customers to know exactly where the wool in their products comes from. Our goal is to reach 100% traceability within the next two years. We’re also working hard to fully localise our wool production, and we’re currently seeking support to acquire small-scale carding and scouring machines, which are essential to making this happen.

In quantitative terms, just the past year we have been able to accomplish the following:

  • Employed 300 women—a 140% increase
  • The average earnings of our artisans have risen to ₹12,000/month, up 133%
  • Our production capacity has expanded to 1,000 kg per month, a 250% jump
  • We’ve purchased 12,000 kg of Himalayan wool, supporting local herders (240% growth)
  • 25 village clusters are now part of our ecosystem (167% increase)
  • And we’ve trained 10 women leaders who are now inspiring and guiding their communities (167% increase)

These numbers reflect more than growth—they represent the resilience, strength, and creativity of the communities we work with. Together, we’re not just building products—we’re building a future that’s ethical, traceable, and deeply rooted in place.
